Workflow

An old oil drum on the beach is a typical example of debris that can be found along the coast of the island. The garbage mostly originates from ships but also from activities on the island itself.

KGIS Workflow
Raw data provided by a wide variety of institutions is collected at IPG Freiburg. These data are integrated by referencing to a common reference system and common semantics, and by documenting the respective metadata. The final products are available as OGC webservices to plug into OGC enabled applications, as GIS data sets in the download area (shapefiles) or as customizable PDF maps through the interactive map viewer.
